Four Delicious Healthy Holiday Options

My mouth is watering just thinking about all the delicious food at the holidays. You might think because you are living a healthy lifestyle that you can’t enjoy delicious holiday goodies. If you do substitute treats, many of them are not very tasty.

Last year I discovered these cookbooks by Hungry Girl.  They are filled with recipes that make small substitutions for all of your favorite foods. They are full of flavor and half the calories.

I’ve compiled a list of my favorite holiday treats so you can have a delicious holiday along with everyone else, and I bet you if you bring one of these to your holiday party no one will even notice the difference.

Toasty Marshmallow Sweet Potato Skins – These are so easy to make and are absolutely scrumptious. They make the perfect appetizer so you won’t be missing out as you wait for dinner to begin.

Save the Day Stuffing – I’m not gonna lie. I could eat just a full plate of stuffing and be completely satisfied. Stuffing is my holiday weakness. When I found this recipe I was skeptical of the substitution and flavor. Let me tell you, this was a pleasant surprise. It was quite tasty and full of flavor, and I didn’t have to feel guilty eating it.

Candy Cane Brownies – Sweets are the hardest for me to skip during the holidays, but these brownies are so moist and easy to make. They’ll definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

No-Nonsense Nog – You can’t enjoy the holidays without some egg nog in my book. This recipe allows you to enjoy your egg nog guilt-free and with all the flavor.
