Promotions Assistant

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a bold, energetic, clear communicator, and a star at station events, appearances, and within the hallways of our office. If having a heart to surprise and delight our biggest fans sounds like your dream job, you should apply. Here’s what we’re looking for…

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the physical representation of the station at client and community appearances and remotes.
  • Help to brainstorm and plan creative promotional and event ideas for 104.9 the River listeners, clients, and donors.
  • Execute station, client, and community events by:
    • Preparing for the event and packing station vehicles.
    • Interacting with listeners, donors and clients in a professional and friendly way.
    • Clearly communicating the mission and vision of 104.9 the River.
    • Taking artistic photos/videos for social media and event recaps.
    • Occasionally serving as the station mascot- River Dog
    • Tearing down equipment and unloading station vehicles.
  • Additional in-office tasks and projects to support all departments will be assigned as needed.
  • Help lead a team of event interns throughout the summer months.

You must understand that evening and weekend hours are the “NORM”.

Details

Hours: 60% nights and weekends, 40% weekday in-office hours, though this will vary seasonally. During the busy season (May-October) hours are typically 80% nights & weekends, 20% in office.

Social Media Intern

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and communicator who has vision and a great sense of humor — we think this will be fun!

The Digital Team at 104.9 the River exists to encourage connections and share Jesus in Central Ohio through radio digital marketing and social media. You will get to engage with us on a daily basis and learn the value of making a positive impression via social media with listeners and clients. We’ll count on you to be organized, dependable, and ready to learn.

Here’s what we’re looking for…

  • Current student enrolled in a college or university
  • Available to participate in the internship from end of May – Mid August
  • Contribute a minimum of 15-20 hours in the office weekly
  • Preferred majors: Communications, Public Relations or Marketing (not required)

  • Adobe Suite experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

As you work with us, you’ll get to…

  • Research social media trends, platforms and developments
  • Increase brand awareness, brand differentiation, loyalty and ultimately advocacy.
  • Develops regular content for use in social media
  • Creates successful strategies using Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and other social media tools.
  • Create spreadsheets and track numbers, insights and engagement
  • Work closely with the graphics team to develop graphics for social media platforms.

Work with our Social Media Manager Olivia and our graphic design team to create consistent content across all our social media platforms, track engagement, and learn how to promote and communicate our radio brand to our listeners with integrity and creativity.

  • Maintain overall organization of office, vehicles, and event materials

Events:

  • Set up event displays
  • Build relationships with event attendees
  • Engage listeners in contests
  • Engage listeners with the mission and vision of 104.9 the River
  • Take photos to post to Social Media and for Client Recaps
  • Serve as the River Dog mascot periodically

Details

This is a paid internship opportunity. Hours will vary based on event schedule, but will generally be between 15-20 hours per week.

This internship qualifies for school credit. Despite this not being a paid internship, we still expect high-quality work in order to obtain school credit at the end of the internship. Potential hours will vary based on event schedules.
